Tania Baccega

Postdoctoral Associate

Tania Baccega received her MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from the University of Padua, Italy, in 2014 and completed her PhD in Molecular Medicine from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2021. Her doctoral research focused on advancing genome editing techniques for cancer immunotherapy and the development of universally transplantable human cells.

Prior to her PhD, Tania worked as a graduate scientist at AstraZeneca, Sweden, gaining experience in drug development and CRISPR technologies. Currently, Tania serves as a postdoctoral associate in the Pasqual Lab, where she develops innovative cell-based platforms to study interactions between human T cells and antigen-presenting cells.

Her research has led to several peer-reviewed publications, a granted patent on a methodology for multiplexing epigenetic and genetic modifications, and recognition with several scientific awards, including the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy Excellence in Research Award and a postdoctoral fellowship from Fondazione Umberto Veronesi.
