Our Lab
We can interrogate biological processes only if we find a way to measure them
Flow cytometry
Our institute is equipped with several state-of-the-art analyzers and a cell sorter, which are essential for our research focused on the characterization of immune cells. Our flow cytometry facility includes a BD Fortessa with five lasers, an LSRII with four lasers, a Celesta with a high throughput sampler, and an Aria Fusion sorter for the isolation of immune populations for downstream analysis.
We routinely use these instruments for the multiparametric analysis of immune cells from both experimental and human samples.
Single cell and spatial transcriptomics
Our institute features multiple advanced platforms for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics. To investigate the transcriptomic profiles and antigen receptor identities of immune cells at the single-cell level, we leverage the Chromium Controller platform from 10X Genomics. Additionally, the GeoMX system from NanoString enables us to analyze RNA and protein expression within the spatial context of tissues.
Our in-house Illumina sequencers ensure rapid turnaround times for library preparation and sequencing.
Microscopy
We have access to a diverse range of imaging platforms, including confocal and optical microscopes, as well as digital pathology systems. These tools enable us to conduct detailed and high-resolution imaging of biological samples, facilitating in-depth analysis of cellular structures and tissue morphology.
We use these imaging technologies to visualize immune cell interactions in lymphoid organs and in target tissues.
