Gioia Boncompagni
Postdoctoral Associate
Gioia Boncompagni earned her MSc in Biology from the University of Siena, Italy, in 2020. In 2024, she completed her PhD in Life Sciences in the same institute, uncovering with her research a novel mechanism exploited by leukemic cells to avoid T cell mediated killing. During her PhD Gioia also joined as visiting scientist the University of Southampton, UK, deepening her knowledge on chronic lymphocytic leukemia and translational clinical research.
Currently a postdoctoral associate in the Pasqual Lab, she is continuing her work in the field of tumor immunology by studying the interactions between cancer cells, therapeutic T cells, and the endogenous immune compartment in the tumor microenvironment.
